Metro Station

 Metro Station was an American pop rock band formed in Los Angeles, California. In late 2006, the band signed a recording contract with Columbia/Red Ink.[5] They were best known for their Top 10 Billboard hit single "Shake It"[6] from their self-titled debut album. The group officially disbanded on March 23, 2010.
 In 2006, Mason Musso and Trace Cyrus agreed to meet on the set of Hannah Montana, which stars Mason's brother, Mitchel, and Trace's sister, Miley. Sharing musical interests, they decided to form a band.[5] Shortly thereafter, Cyrus recruited Blake Healy from Synthetic Joy as a keyboardist, synthesist, and bassist. Cyrus remained the singer and the lead guitarist. Musso became the group's main singer and rhythm guitarist.

Metro Station soon gained the attention of drummer Anthony Improgo, who was added as the band's drummer after the group released the song "Seventeen Forever" on their MySpace Music website. Musso sang lead on the track, as did a previously unknown member of the band named Dmitry, who quit the band soon thereafter. The group's popularity on MySpace Music grew, and the band eventually topped the MySpace Music Unsigned Band's charts.[citation needed]

Metro Station was discovered by Jason Aron who at the time was an intern working for Columbia Records' Walking Eye program, while looking through the MySpace Music charts, and the group was signed shortly thereafter.[8]

In the July 2007 issue of music magazine Alternative Press, Metro Station was listed as one of the "22 Best Underground Bands (That Likely Won't Stay Underground for Long)."[9]

Metro Station released their self-titled debut studio album in September 2007. The album had two singles released, "Kelsey" and "Control". Although both singles failed to make the charts, with higher sales of the album both became more popular. It wasn't until mid-2008, after the release of the single "Shake It," that the band received a significant amount of commercial exposure, and the song peaked in the top-ten of three US charts. The song peaked at #3 on Hot Digital Songs, #9 in the Pop 100, #10 in the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at #20 in the Hot Dance Airplay chart.[6] The success of the song also affected album sales, the album charting nine months later in 2008 at #43 in the Billboard 200, #1 Top Electronic Albums and #2 in the Top Heatseekers.[10]

In 2009 Metro Station toured in the Believers Never Die Part Deux Tour which with Hey Monday, All Time Low, Cobra Starship and Fall Out Boy.

The band also contributed a song to the Alice In Wonderland soundtrack Almost Alice titled "Where's My Angel".

A Day To Remember

A Day to Remember is an American rock band from Ocala, Florida. Founded in 2003 by guitarist, Tom Denny, and drummer, Bobby Scruggs, the band has released four studio albums, nine singles and eight music videos. They are mainly known for their unusual amalgamation of metalcore and pop punk as a musical style.
 After all playing in different groups in the Ocala music scene, singer Jeremy McKinnon, guitarists Neil Westfall and Tom Denney, bassist Joshua Woodard, and drummer Bobby Scruggs came together in 2003. Soon after, the band embarked on a "DIY" tour, playing well over 200 shows, making a name for themselves. They were signed to Indianola Records, from which they recorded their debut full-length debut album, titled And Their Name Was Treason in May 2005. The album sold 8,690 copies but the band felt that bigger and better things were to come. "A friend of mine said he had the AIM screenname of someone at Victory Records,” Woodard said. "I didn’t believe him, but I still started communicating with the guy. We IM’ed back and forth for about six months, and it happened that we were playing with the band On the Last Day in a town outside of Chicago—and this guy was going to be there filming it. It was our first time we ever played in Illinois, yet the 50-60 kids there were singing along to our tunes like they’d been fans all their lives."

Silverstein

Silverstein is a Canadian post-hardcore band from Burlington, Ontario, formed in 2000. Their band name is a reference to the famous children's author Shel Silverstein, whom the band had admired and read the stories of as children.[1] They have released a total of five studio albums, three EP's, a compilation album and a live DVD/CD. Their lineup has remained unchanged since December of 2001, consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Shane Told, guitarists Neil Boshart and Josh Bradford, bass guitarist and backing vocalist Billy Hamilton, and drummer Paul Koehler. The band achieved moderate success with their second studio album, Discovering The Waterfront, reaching #34 on the Billboard 200 charts, with the following two albums charting at similar positions.[2]

The band left long time record label, Victory Records in 2010, and are currently signed with Hopeless Records and Universal Music.[3][4] They released their new studio album titled Rescue, in April 2011. An EP titled Transitions was released on December 7 as precursor, with two songs taken from the upcoming full length album.Silverstein formed in January 2000.[7]  During that same year, they self-released their first EP, Summer's Stellar Gaze.[7]  After several lineup changes, the band acquired Billy Hamilton, a local fan who learned of the band's need for a bassist on the Internet  message board "The 905 Board" (an Ontario area outreach board which used to be for local musicians). In December 2001, he joined the band after Told helped him learn the music for the songs. Following a rehearsal on Boxing Day (December 26) in 2000, he officially debuted with Silverstein. The next spring, original guitarist Richard McWalter left the band to move to Victoria, British Columbia to study engineering. He was then replaced by Neil Boshart, childhood friend of Shane Told. The new lineup recorded a second EP, When the Shadows Beam, in preparation for their first tour in Eastern Canada. The band signed to Victory Records in October 2002 with a complete lineup as Hamilton attempted to complete his secondary education one semester early.
